Did you know that the suffragette movement started in Manchester and the first meeting was held at the Pankhurst household? You can still visit the parlour where it took place. The original Pankhurst home is now a museum called The Pankhurst Centre and it’s worth a visit if you’re visiting or live in Manchester. The staff are very knowledgeable and there’s a small cafe and a lovely garden.
